Who We Are

We are a year round swim club located in Ave Maria and Immokalee, Southwest Florida.  We have an age group swim team and we are a licensed Red Cross Safety Training Provider.

We established Ave Angels Swim Club in August of 2013 on the feast of St. Rose of Lima.  We realized that there was a need in the Ave Maria community for a swim club that promotes swimming as a sport, and offers affordable  classes.

We work with Ave Maria Water Park and Immokalee Sports Complex to set up time  for team practice, lap hours and the classes.

We wish to develop leaderships through swim team, encourage healthy living through regular swimming and water safety through our classes for children. 

Coach Leung

Coach David Leung is a certified USA Swimming coach and a certified Red Cross lifeguard/ First Aid/CPR/AED, Babysitting, and Wilderness First Aid instructor.  He was on high school swim team and won the all around champion in his senior year.  He is also a certified Rescue SCUBA diver and has been diving since 1988.  In 2018, he started the multi-sport club to promote triathlon and healthy life style.  He completed his first Ironman 70.3 in 2019.

Coach Agnes

Coach Agnes is a certified lifeguard, SCUBA diver, USA Swimming coach, and Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.  Agnes was also in the Civil Air Patrol and was a Cadet Staff Sergeant. She spent a year studying in Spain in her senior year of highschool.  She graduated from Ave Maria University with a Biochemistry degree.  Junior and senior year she played on the AMU women lacrosse team and was awarded the NAIA Lacrosse Academic All-America. She is currently working full-time as a new mother.

 Coach Theresa

Coach Theresa is a certified lifeguard, SCUBA diver and USA Swimming Coach.  Theresa graduated high school in 2018 and is currently taking a gap year to work on entering an art school.  Theresa swam for 5 years on the Ave Angels Swim Team and has coached lessons for the past 6 years.  Besides swimming in our club, she has been on the Palmetto Swim team, track and field with Donahue Catholic, and cross country at Mason Classical Academy.  She spent her senior year in Hong Kong, learning Wing Chun from Sifu Leung, a direct lineage from Wing Chun Master Ip Man and volunteering with Missionaries of Charity.  

Coach Angela

Coach Angela is a certified SCUBA diver, lifeguard, USA Swimming coach and Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.   Angela was a Cadet Senior Master Sergeant and an element leader of Civil Air Patrol, an United States Air Force Auxiliary prior to moving to FL.  She was nominated as the Cadet of the Year for her squadron.  She  attended Ave Maria University where she played for the AMU lacrosse team. She graduated a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She currently works as a paramedic in Collier county.

Coach Francis

Coach Francis is a certified lifeguard, SCUBA diver, and Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.  Francis was also in the Civil Air Patrol and was a Cadet Senior Master Sergeant and an element leader.  He has been in the Donahue Catholic basketball team, cross country, track and field team and Palmetto swimming and diving team.  He won the first place in high school division in 2014 Donahue Ribeye 5K run.  He won the overall 2nd place at the HITS Open triathlon in Naples in 2015 and 2016.  He played on AMU's basketball team until 2018.  He is currently a Senior at Ave Maria University studying Biology, Chemistry, and Health Science.
